Jurnal Review : Perbandingan Penggunaan Katalis K2O dan Li2O pada Pembuatan Biodiesel Berbasis Minyak Rapeseed

Telah dilakukan studi penelitian yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan kondisi paling optimum penggunaan katalis K2O dan Li2O dalam pembuatan biodiesel berbasis minyak rapeseed. Penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi sintesis katalis, karakterisasi katalis, proses reaksi transesterifikasi dengan pelarut methanol dan juga pengujian potensi penggunaan kembali katalis. Beberapa parameter yang diuji dalam penelitian ini adalah waktu reaksi, temperatur, rasio minyak dengan methanol, dan % berat katalis terhadap hasil yield biodiesel yang dihasilkan. Katalis Li2O memiliki kondisi optimum penggunaan katalis pada suhu 60oC, rasio methanol:minyak 6:1, waktu 2 jam, dan konsentrasi (wt%) katalis 10% dengan hasil yield 98%. Sedangkan pada katalis K2O memiliki kondisi optimum penggunaan katalis pada suhu 50oC, rasio methanol:minyak 15:1, waktu 3 jam, dan konsentrasi (wt%) katalis 4% dengan hasil yield 98,62%.
