Heat Exchanger Efficiency (HE-002) in the Crude Distillation Unit at the Oil and Gas Human Resources Development Center (PPSDM Migas)

PPSDM Migas Cepu mengolah minyak mentah atau crude oil yang berasal dari PT. Pertamina EP Asset 4 Field Cepu menjadi Pertasol CA , Pertasol CB, Pertasol CC, Solar dan Residu, melalui proses Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) di unit Kilang. Pada tahap awal proses, bahan baku berupa minyak mentah dipanaskan dalam rangkain heat exchanger kemudian dipanaskan kembali dalam furnace hingga mencapai suhu tertentu untuk dialirkan ke tahap-tahap selanjutnya. Heat exchanger merupakan alat transfer panas antara fluida panas dan fluida dingin, tanpa perlu mencampurkan kedua fluida tersebut. HE-002 jenis shell and tube merupakan satu dari lima unit heat exchanger yang dimiliki unit Kilang PPSDM Migas. HE-002 berperan dalam memanaskan fluida dingin berupa crude oil yang ditempatkan di dalam tube dan mengalirkan fluida panas berupa solar melalui shell. Perpindahan panas dapat terjadi karena adanya perbedaan suhu antar fluida. Namun, pada kondisi sebenarnya, besar panas yang dilepaskan solar dan panas yang diterima crude oil tidak bernilai sama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan besar efisiensi perpindahan panas pada HE-002 dengan membandingkan perubahan kalor pada fluida panas dan fluida dingin. Setelah dilakukan pengumpulan data dan perhitungan, didapatkan besar efisiensi HE-002 unit Kilang PPSDM Migas adalah 94,463% dengan persentase heat loss sebesar 4,753%.
