Abstract

Telah dilakukan studi simulasi pengurangan konsentrasi CO2 di gas alam sebagai umpan CNG plant di PT. TIP. Simulasi dilaksanakan menggunakan simulator HYSYS V12.1 metode absorpsi dengan pelarut methyl diethanolamine (MDEA). Skenario yang digunakan dalam simulasi adalah kolom absorpsi 10 tray, pelarut MDEA 65% wt dengan laju alir ke dalam kolom absorber 110 kg/jam, dan gas alam dengan laju alir 1 MMSCFD tekanan 198 psia pada temperatur 89,6 °F.

Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa absorpsi dengan pelarut MDEA dapat menurunkan 11,4% mol CO2 dalam gas alam PT TIP. Pengurangan gas CO2 yang sebesar 11,4% mol cukup untuk memenuhi spesifikasi gas pipa (maksimum 3 – 4% mol).
